James Griffiths had set up his sole practice in 1982 which consisted of accounting and audit services provided to local clients. The firm Griffiths & Associates was officially established in 2004 with the collaboration of Peter Griffiths, with operations commencing from offices situated in Sliema, Malta and eventually moving to bigger offices in Swieqi and later in 2013 in Naxxar.
Griffiths + Associates was hence created via the synergy of father and son, James and Peter Griffiths, who decided to create a legal entity which would form the basis of the successful practice growing from strength to strength over the years. As from 1st January 2013, the audit-side of business is being operated via the limited liability company Griffiths + Associates Ltd whilst the acting of Corporate Service Provider and accounting / tax advisory services are being carried out via the limited liability company Griffiths + Associates Advisory Ltd.
Today Griffiths + Associates boasts diverse local and international clients, and a solid business reputation in the accounting and auditing field which has been developing and growing over the past years.
The firm is a member of PrimeGlobal, a worldwide association of independent accounting firms and business advisers.

1982
Humble beginnings
James N Griffiths was one of the first CPA warrant holders in Malta, and started working as a sole practitioner his own practice. Prior to that, he had worked for several years at a high level in audit, working with the only “big” audit firm at that time in Malta, Diamantino Manfre’.

2001
First Employees
Peter Griffiths completed his main University studies and joined his father James in the practice. The first employees were recruited thereafter and the firm decided to join an international association of accountants, IA International. Over the years, the latter eventually merged with other associations to become PrimeGlobal.
The firm eyed the international market and this was bolstered thanks to the international taxation specialization of Peter Griffiths. -
2004
Establishment of Griffiths & Associates
Father and son – James and Peter Griffiths - decided to set up the audit firm Griffiths & Associates and join forces as partners; the firm was born on the eve of Malta becoming a full member of the European Union.

2013
Internal Restructuring
The civil partnership Griffiths & Associates was restructured into the licensed audit firm Griffiths + Associates Ltd, which focused solely on the provision of audit services and the licensed accounting firm Griffiths + Associates Advisory Ltd which provides the other advisory and accounting services to clients.

2016
New Directorships
James Griffiths stepped down as director of Griffiths + Associates Ltd in view of his retirement, after an illustrious career spanning more than four decades.
Alexander Micallef replaced him as director of Griffiths + Associates Ltd.
Anton Magro joined Griffiths + Associates Advisory Ltd earlier in 2015, to later become an equity director of the same company heading the Accounts / VAT-compliance Department.
